LawAssure

LawAssure is a complimentary online document preparation service, provided through EPOQ, that gives Foresters members convenient access to customizable wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives from home. Accessible through the MyForesters.com member portal, LawAssure is found under the Well Being category in the Member Benefits tab.

The service tailors document templates to each member’s location and jurisdiction, ensuring they meet local legal requirements. Some documents and features may vary based on where a member lives. To make the process easy, each document is paired with a guided questionnaire. Members simply answer a series of questions about their personal circumstances, and LawAssure automatically fills in the relevant details. Helpful plain-language prompts are provided throughout, making it simple to complete documents accurately.

Community Grants

Whether someone wants to volunteer in their community or create lasting memories with the people who matter most, Foresters Community Grants can help make it happen. Each year, Foresters invests over $5 million into these grants to support members in doing more for the people and communities around them. A grant could be used to donate books to a local library, create care kits for a shelter, or bring family together for a fun event while meeting others with similar interests. With Community Grants, members can have fun, help others, and strengthen community connections.

Post Secondary Financial Assistance

Scholarships

Foresters believes that education and community go hand in hand. Each year, they award nearly $2 million in renewable, competitive tuition scholarships to members and their family members. Recipients are selected based on criteria such as strong academic performance and active community volunteer work. These scholarships are available to eligible students pursuing post-secondary education at a university, community college, or trade program.

Supporting Education Through Tragedy

Orphan Scholarships

If you pass away while your children are still pursuing higher education, Foresters can help cover the cost.

  • What it is: A renewable scholarship of up to $6,000 per year, available for up to four years.
  • Who qualifies: Dependent children of a deceased Foresters member who are enrolled in a recognized college, university, or trade school.
  • Why it matters: Tuition costs can be overwhelming for surviving family members. This benefit ensures your children still have the financial support to pursue their education, even in your absence.
  • Extra perk: The scholarship is renewable, meaning your child doesn’t have to re-compete every year once approved, as long as they meet eligibility requirements.

Financial Support for Bereaved Children

Orphan Benefit

If tragedy strikes and both parents pass away, this benefit provides consistent financial support for surviving children.

  • What it is: A monthly payment of up to $900 per child, helping cover living costs like housing, food, school supplies, and extracurricular activities.
  • Who qualifies: Dependent children under a certain age (often under 18 or 25 if in full-time education) of a deceased Foresters member, when both parents have passed.
  • Why it matters: Losing both parents is devastating — this benefit helps ensure that children can maintain stability and access necessities during a difficult time.
  • Extra note: Payments continue for each eligible child until they reach the maximum age limit, providing ongoing support rather than a one-time sum.

Financial Relief Without Added Stress

Terminal Illness Loan

If you’re diagnosed with a terminal illness, Foresters offers financial relief without adding debt stress to your situation.

  • What it is: An interest-free loan of up to 75% of your life insurance’s face value.
  • Who qualifies: Members with a Foresters life insurance policy and a confirmed terminal illness diagnosis, typically with a life expectancy of 12 months or less (criteria may vary).
  • Why it matters: This allows you to access a large portion of your policy while you’re still alive, helping cover medical costs, home modifications, travel to see family, or any other expenses you choose.
  • Extra perk: Because it’s interest-free, the amount isn’t growing with added charges — it simply reduces the death benefit later.
